The October ‘On the Road Again’ seminar helps you get all the pieces together for a tour worth doing. Whether you are a musician, performer, manager, crew or just ‘with the band’ this one day seminar will help drive you past the potholes of touring, making it there and back in one piece (and hopefully with all band members).
Work-shopping the best times to tour, how to make touring boost your career, booking tour logistics, the best way to market and promote the tour without destroying the bank balance along with some good tour yarns in there too.

Tom Spender
Tom Spender studied an Advanced Diploma of Music performance on Saxophone at NMIT and ended up spending most of his time making a living as a busker on the streets of Melbourne. Not long after graduating he found great joy in programming, songwriting and production after making a hilarious home made EP on pirated software with a friend. This lead to radio and heavy touring both nationally and internationally, recording numerous albums and being involved in various musical projects including the Offcuts.
Tom now is focusing on a solo release under the moniker SPENDER and his career as a producer collaborating with artists such as Gotye, Kimbra, Lior, Bertie Blackman, and his rad little company " Donut Beach Music " which produces music for Film, theatre and the advertising industry.

Sarah-Jane Wentzki
Sarah-Jane Wentzki is probably best known for her work as Princess One Point Five, the Melbourne based indie rock band slash duo, slash solo project. She’s a singer, multi instrumentalist, songwriter, self managed artist who also helps to run an independent record label (Pharmacy Records), and as if that weren’t enough, she is also a writers services representative at APRA.
So…What does this mean?
SJ is many things to many people, but above and beyond everything she’s someone who loves her job, even if it sometimes means juggling a myriad, often conflicting, tasks to bring home the bacon. She’s joining the Cover Your Artz crew to talk with you about some of the pitfalls, pinnacles and rewards of being an independent jack-of - all-trades artist in this ever changing world of music making and delivery. Primarily she’s been asked to share her knowledge of the precarious and oft frustrating activity of grants writing and assessment, informed by a 4 year stint at working in the Contemporary and Live Music Development program at Arts Victoria (formerly Victora Rocks).
